I first posted this commentary to my blog on August 27, 2015, yes, almost 10 years ago. Boy, the world has changed since then in ways we could not have imagined. Anyway, it was — and is — a plea for commonsense, clarity and good writing in pitches from public relations and marketing people. I think many people, both in the PR business and the wine reviewing business, will relate to what I say here. Let me add, however, that most of the PR and marketing people that I have contact with, especially those I have known for many years, do not and would not commit the sins I enumerate below.
