I started the Weekend Wine Notes series in May 2015, when an incident with a ladder left me with two broken bones in my right forearm and all the tendons in my wrist and hand sprained. What with surgery and wearing a cast and brace for several months, I was reduced to typing with my left hand. I tried to figure out a way to keep writing and continue reviewing wine, so I came up with the Weekend Wine Notes format: Quick notes on the wines and no technical, historical or geographical information. Just type it in there with one hand and get it done.
