Eclectic and diverse, that’s how we like the Weekend Wine Notes. We have a de-emphasis on cabernet sauvignon but a focus on pinot noir and Rhone-style blends, with a couple of outliers of cabernet franc and sangiovese. The wines hail from California, Oregon, Argentina (the Mendoza region), the south of France, Tuscany and Australia. These are quick reviews, ripped, as it were, from the pages of my notebooks. Looking for hearty reds to accompany the rich, big-flavored foods of Winter? Look no further. Enjoy, in moderation, of course.
