I offer today reviews of 10 red wines made from various grape varieties in diverse regions, with an eye toward the hearty fare of Autumn, which officially begins tomorrow, about two in the afternoon. As usual in the Weekend Wine Notes, I avoid most technical, historical and geographical data for the sake of quick mentions, ripped, as it were, from the pages of my notebooks. This roster presents a combination of samples for review and local purchases, so indicated. Enjoy! In moderation, of course.
