Troon Vineyard nestles in Oregon’s Applegate Valley, in the town of Grants Pass. The wines under consideration today — the Druid series — represent a kind of second label for the winery, which doesn’t mean that any thought or methodology was neglected in the growing of the grapes and the minimal treatment in the winery. Though moderately priced ($25), the Druid wines still come from certified biodynamic and certified regenerative organic vineyards. Only native yeasts are employed for fermentation, and the wines — no Troon wines — ever see new oak. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, these wines are suitable for vegans. The wines tend to have sensible alcohol levels, as in around 12.5 percent. Winemaker is Nate Wall.
