The Giguiere family founded their first winery, RH Phillips, in Yolo County, east of Napa County, in 1983. I remember, in the early days of my wine reviewing career, writing about RH Phillips and its fellow brand Toasted Head, both long ago divested. Now the still-family-owned winery, called Matchbook, produces wines under these labels — Tinto Rey, The Herdsman, Chasing Venus, The Arsonist, Mossback, Matchbook and Pillars of Hercules, all leaning toward their particular emphasis.
