One of the aspects of this writing about wine project that I’ve been carrying on for almost 40 years is discovering wineries, producers and estates I never heard of before. Sometimes, I receive an email — used to be a letter or telephone call — from someone asking if I would like to review the wines of such-and-such winery that’s new to me. I relish these opportunities and almost invariably say Yes.
