Napa Valley, one of the most historic and widely known wine regions in the world, contains presently about 475 wineries and 700 grape growers. When Whitehall Lane was founded in 1980, there were far fewer wineries than there are now, and Napa Valley was far more bucolic than the crowded tourist playground to which it evolved.
