In 2006, Pete and Terri Kight purchased Sonoma County’s Quivira Vineyards from founders Henry and Holly Wendt. That was a good move, because today, under the stewardship of winemaker Hugh Chappelle, the winery turns out a roster of excellent, well-balanced wines, the stars of which are its various zinfandels and sauvignon blancs. Today, I offer reviews of two of Quivira’s zinfandels, one single-vineyard and single-variety, the other a blend of two grape varieties originating in two estate vineyards. Enjoy!
