Lucy Hits All the Notes of Spring and Summer

Three delights from 2023.

The Lucy mentioned in the title of this post refers to Lucy Wines, a subsidiary winery of the Pisoni family that under its Lucia Vineyards label produces a range of high-class single-vineyard chardonnays and pinot noirs from the Santa Lucia Highlands of Monterey County. While the Lucy wines are thoughtfully and carefully crafted, they give winemaker Jeff Pisoni a chance to be more playful and light-hearted than serious. The Lucy wines certainly open the possibilities of Spring and Summer drinking through their freshness, liveliness and attractiveness. I recommend each of this trio of wines, a rosé, a white blend and a gamay noir. By the way, one dollar from the sale of each bottle of Lucy wines is donated to a different charitable cause.
