The winery is named for the Hazel Fern Farm in Portland, Oregon. Winemaker is Bryan Laing; general manager is his wife Laura Laing. They began making wine in their basement — the beginning of so many wineries — and eventually moved, in 2006, to a historic farmhouse in the Chehalem Mountains. It’s a hands-on operation, dedicated to family and wines of purity and intensity.
