Gimlet or Gibson

I get confused.

Several years ago, I posted a very artful, if not artsy, photo of a Gimlet cocktail on Facebook. I immediately received a flood of responses from people who asserted that what I had posted was not a Gimlet but a Gibson. Naturally, these knowledgeable people implied that I was all sorts of a moron for not knowing the difference.
