30 Great Bargain Wines of 2025, $30 and Under
All rate Excellent.
Whew, this is more like it. Wines we can all afford. Prices range from $15 to $30, with most falling within that $18 to $25 QPR sweet spot. In terms of genre, there are 15 red wines, 11 whites, three rosés and one sparkling. Geographically, we’re all over the map — seven wines from California and seven from Italy; four from Oregon; three each from France and Portugal; two from New York; and one each from Washington state, Argentina, Bulgaria and Greece.
Most of these wines are eminently drinkable, quaffable, yet they also surprise with their level of character and complexity. You could take a bottle to a picnic or serve at a backyard cookout — depending on the weather where you live; parts of the country are snowed in — take a few sips and say, “Hey, that’s really good.” As in “even better than I expected.”
These are the wines you buy six bottles of or even a case to consume over the next year or two.
Enjoy! In moderation, of course.
Twelve of these wines were samples for review; the rest were purchases.

This list is a masterclass in finding structure and complexity without spending a fortune. The QPR sweet spot observation is key because that $18-25 range is where producers can't hide behind branding anymore. I've noticed the same pattern with smaller wineries who actually care about the juice, they tend to overdeliver precisely becasue they're still building reputation. The Lucy Pico Blanco combo caught my eye, pinot blanc doesn't get enough love as a blending grape.
Wow, some recognizable favorites of mine… the Lost is underrated as far as Greek whites go, and Surrau might be one of my top three favorite producers out of Sardinia. Great list!
